This Privacy Policy explains how Strada Media Ltd ("Strada", "we", "us"), the company behind stradacarnews.com, collects and uses personal data. Strada Media Ltd is registered in England and Wales and is the data controller for the purposes of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. We keep this short and honest because our whole model is reader-supported, not data-driven.
Data we collect
- Contact form data. When you message us, we receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message (and a subject, if you add one).
- Purchase data. When you buy a PDF guide or video course, we process the email address used for delivery and a record of what you bought. Card details are handled entirely by our payment processor — we never see or store full payment-card numbers.
- Analytics data. We collect limited, mostly aggregated information about how the Site is used — pages viewed, approximate region, device and browser type — to understand what's read and to keep the Site working.
How we use it
We use your data only to: reply to and act on your messages; deliver the products you buy and provide support; keep records required for accounting and legal compliance; and understand and improve how the Site performs. Our legal bases are consent (e.g. optional analytics cookies), contract (delivering a purchase), and legitimate interests (running and securing a small publication), balanced against your rights. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Third parties we share with
We share data only with the service providers needed to run Strada, under contracts that limit them to processing on our instructions:
- A payment processor, to take payment securely for shop purchases.
- An email/delivery provider, to send product access and reply to your messages.
- An analytics and hosting provider, to serve and measure the Site.
We may also disclose data if required by law. We don't otherwise share or sell personal data to third parties.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies — essential ones to make the Site work and optional analytics ones. We don't use advertising cookies. Full detail, and how to control them, is in our Cookie Policy.
Your rights
Under the UK and EU GDPR you have the right to: access the data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent at any time; and request portability of data you've provided. To exercise any of these, contact us via the contact page and we'll respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Data retention
We keep contact-form messages only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and a reasonable period after. Purchase records are kept as long as required for support and to meet accounting and tax obligations (typically up to six years). Analytics data is retained in aggregated form. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
